As part of its “Stupid or Genius” social media campaign, Oscar Mayer recently dropped a new limited-edition product: the Cold Dog. Cause you know, that is truly what people would like to see-eeee.

About the hot-diggity… er, cold-diggity-dog

Part hot dog, part popsicle, the Cold Dog was created in collaboration with frozen dessert company Popbar after Oscar Mayer’s social media followers voted that the idea was “genius.”

Anne Field, head of North American brand communications for Oscar Mayer, shared about the launch:

“After the overwhelming fan excitement for our beloved Cold Dog, it was a no-brainer to make this hot dog-inspired frozen pop a reality. For more than 130 years, Oscar Mayer has been sparking smiles and bringing levity into everyday moments, and we are thrilled to bring fans another wonderfully odd way to enjoy our iconic wiener while beating the summer heat.”

According to the New York Post, the popsicle “visibly resembles a hot dog topped with mustard and has ‘smokey, umami notes of Oscar Mayer’s iconic Weiner,’” and is currently available for purchase at four select Popbar locations. So, if you find yourself in New Orleans, Atlanta, Long Beach, or New York, you can pick one up today – but please note: fries sold separately.
