M&M’s has already made history by being the first candy to be eaten in outer space – now the brand is pairing up with delivery app Gopuff to form a “Halloween Rescue Squad” and bring free candy refills to Americans with dwindling supplies.

About the initiative

In a bold move to increase customer loyalty, M&M’s will be delivering free extra candy to houses that receive more trick-or-treaters than originally planned this Halloween. Requests for refills can be placed after 3:00 p.m. ET on October 31, on the Halloween Rescue Squad’s microsite. No prior purchase of M&M’s candy is necessary, and the Squad promises that all rescues will be completed in an hour or less for those within range of Gopuff’s delivery services. For the almost 50% of Americans concerned with having enough candy for their neighborhood princesses and superheroes, the Halloween Rescue Squad is a godsend.

Tim LeBel, President of Sales and Chief Halloween Officer at Mars Wrigley, M&M’s parent company, recently commented on the goal of the initiative:

“The Halloween season is expanding, and enthusiasm is driving consumers to shop earlier and more frequently. As the authority on Halloween, we plan for the season years in advance to ensure we satisfy shoppers’ needs. From our first ever M&M’S Halloween Rescue Squad to new product innovations, we’re doing everything we can to inspire more moments of everyday happiness this season.”

As an added bonus, M&M’s is also giving qualified customers free premium access to Peacock’s shows and movies for up to three months if they upload their receipts by October 31.
