In honor of Barbie’s 60th anniversary, Airbnb is giving one lucky person (plus three of their friends!) the chance to stay in a real-life Barbie dream house in Malibu.
Living the Barbie Dream
The hillside villa is equipped with a host of special amenities, including an infinity pool, a sport court, hobby studio, theater room, and meditation terrace – not to mention spectacular ocean views. Two pink-accented bedrooms can host four guests, while Barbie’s walk-in closet features some of her most iconic outfits, ready for dress-up. Just one thing will be missing – Barbie’s waterslide – because apparently, she says, “I never travel without my waterslide.”

Special experiences included
If that doesn’t already sound glamorous enough, the stay will also come with special experiences for the guests – Airbnb’s site states:
Learn how to fence with Ibtihaj Muhammad, create an exquisite meal in my fully stocked kitchen with chef Gina Clarke-Helm, get a makeover with hairstylists from Mane Addicts Creator Collective while meeting with celebrity hairstylist and girl boss Jen Atkin, and even take a trip to the Columbia Memorial Space Center with pilot and aerospace engineer Jill Meyers.
Supporting girls’ dreams
The promotion is also focused on supporting The Barbie Dream Gap Project, which is focused on helping girls excel and be confident. Airbnb will be making a donation to the project on the guest’s behalf. An Airbnb press release stated:
Before women were allowed to open their own bank accounts, Barbie bought her first Dreamhouse. As a modern homeowner and entrepreneur, Barbie is very excited to open her home by listing it on Airbnb to share her story and to continue to inspire fans around the world.
Limited to a one-time-only stay on October 27-29, the special weekend will go to the lucky first booker for only $60 a night. This marketing move is a prime example of exclusivity marketing – by offering only one weekend at a ridiculously low price, they’ve generated more hype than unlimited rental availability ever could.
