Besides brevity, Twitter’s foremost characteristic has always been speed, i.e., fast posting, fast updating, and quick reading. Now they are upping the ante with an updated search algorithm that will provide all the information you could possibly need from the social media service.

Twitter has long kept an archive of all tweets, but searching through them was regulated to just a few weeks, or even days. The company has long seen this as something to fix, however, and has been working on a way to make all tweets, from all time, searchable. Enter their new search engine!

As of right now, the search engine simply allows you to sort through words and hashtags to find what you’re looking for, as well as set a date range to focus your search a little.  Don’t worry about this making normal searching more difficult though: the social platform will still prioritize new content above the old, so you won’t have to sift through too much extra content.
