Depending on who you ask, being well-prepared for a meeting is either an art or a science, but most people will agree that apps make everything easier.

Enter Lowdown, a new app by a UK startup of the same name that streamlines various information from your phone and online sources to help your meetings run smoothly.  The app first identifies meetings in your phone calendar and then gets information on all the attendees, sourcing LinkedIn information as well as any other relevant online information on them or their company.  Additionally, providing you’ve synced your social networks, Lowdown provides suggestions for possible future networking by showing which contacts you have in common with the attendees.

Built-in email service ensures that you’re never out of the loop if other people have information or updates about the meeting, and the location is marked on Google or Apple maps and prompts you with directions depending on your whereabouts.

Lowdown is initially targeted at UK sales people who have client meetings, but the startup has had interest from “any busy professional that hosts or attends business meetings,” says Lowdown co-founder and CEO David Senior. It has also been in talks with “numerous enterprise companies” who are interested in tailoring Lowdown for their workforce.

The downsides are that its quite expensive to use, but hopefully that will change.  Visit TechCrunch for more information.
