Instagram recently released an update which lets users pin posts to the top of their profile.

About the update

With this update, users can now click the three dots function at the top right of their posts and select whether they want to pin the post to their profile, enabling increased profile customization. This feature currently works with up to three posts or reels, allowing the top three featured posts on a user’s profile to display the images of their choice. The function has been available to select users since April and is now an option for all users.

Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, recently shared about how the company decided to release the update:

“Your profile is your space, so we’re looking for more ways to give you control over that experience.”

Mosseri also shared that Instagram is currently testing the ability for users to re-arrange their entire profile display, allowing them to re-order their post grid in any way they choose, regardless of when their images were originally posted. However, it is unclear when this option will be made available to all users.
