Yesterday YouTube announced that there will be changes coming to YouTube's commenting section. Instead of going by most recent comments, the new commenting system will filter comments based upon relevance powered by Google+. This means comments from the video creator/poster, your friends and others in your Google+ circles will be highlighted above posts that are from random individuals. They'll also be adding the ability to have public or private conversations on videos, so that you can share your comments with the world or just your circles, which is a welcomed addition.

YouTube also says this will help with moderation as they'll be adding new tools to review comments before they're posted, and adding the ability to block certain words and also having a sort of auto-whitelist for certain fans.

YouTube has given us a glimpse of what the new commenting system will look like:

Probably the biggest change that should come from this is the clean up of YouTube comments. With the ability to be an anonymous poster, many folks continually post comments that are vulgar, crude, and deviating off most people's moral compass. Now that YouTube comments will be tied to a Google+ account, folks won't be able to hide behind an anonymous identity.

We're excited to see how the new commenting system will improve YouTube.
