LinkedIn users have probably started to notice that they can no longer cross-post and sync updates between LinkedIn and Twitter. The Twitter-LinkedIn partnership was in place since 2009. Users can still post updates to Twitter, but they can no longer post updates from Twitter to their LinkedIn accounts.

LinkedIn cited the recent Twitter post about Twitter looking to create a more consistent experience across the platform. Some also wonder if this move could be in response to LinkedIn’s recent security issues.

Whether Twitter ended the partnership because of a want for greater consistency, the worry over security issues and backlash because of it, or because of greater control of advertising and revenues, the fact is that the partnership is over. LinkedIn users will still be allowed to post to Twitter, but the opposite will no longer be the same. For our LinkedIn and Twitter users out there, will the end of this partnership affect your uses of the social network? Will the loss of this partnership hurt LinkedIn?
