Pro-skateboarder Tony Hawk was one of the first major celebrities to start using Instagram publicly, and has become almost as successful at gaining followers as he is at extreme skateboarding.

Currently, Instagram has about 200 million users, and Tony Hawk has gotten 1.4 million of them to follow his account.

Unsurprisingly, he mostly posts skateboarding photos and videos, travel shots, and some old photos, but he uses it in some unexpected ways as well.  “If I hear a name of a younger guy from out there in the skateboarding wild, the first thing I do is look at their Instagram,” says Hawk, in an interview with Mashable. “That's going to be the most telling of what they're doing and what they're into and how far they've come as a skater. Especially for younger skaters now, that's their priority social network. That's where they go to show off.”

So what filters does Tony Hawk use most?  And what tips can he share to make a post “worth it?”  Continue on to Mashable.com for the full Q&A!
