We’ve mentioned before about the widespread disappointment over Google's decision to do away with Google Reader. Fortunately, Google seems to have chosen to get rid of it in order to replace it with something better: Wavii.
Wavii is a news aggregator, summarizing everything you care about into one feed. It's Reader, essentially, if Reader worked with news articles in addition to blogs and RSS feeds. Wavii's interface is similar to Pulse, but features a cleaner, white background.
No one is quite sure whether Wavii will become the next Reader in and of itself, or whether Google bought the technology simply to improve its own search tools. As context on Waxii's future potential, Apple also wanted the technology but Google bought it first, denying Apple the opportunity to use it.
So how much did the program cost? Estimates suggest a price tag of $30 million, but no official terms have been released to the public at this time.
