The Google Trends dashboard may have been around for some time, but it received a major upgrade this week with the YouTube Trends map. The map displays what videos are popular or unpopular across all-important U.S. regions and can be tailored to show which videos are popular based on gender and specific age groups.

In other words, you can now instantly tell how many women ages 18-24 like your commercial airing in Naples, Florida. The type of heavy analysis used to be available only to major marketing firms that could afford to run advertising surveys can now be run by a local candy shoppe.

You can check out the updated trends dashboard here. And while you’re at it, why not get the mobile app and put the power of a dedicated researcher in your pocket?
