Google+ is probably the most robust social networking platform out there today. If you don't have a Google+ account, take a minute to create one now.

Plenty of social networks have launched event pages features, most notably Facebook. Though people who have been using both Facebook and Google recognize that there are drawbacks to using Facebook events that Google+ has found solutions to.

First, in connecting all Goolge products together, Google+ makes adding guests to an event seamless. You can add all of your email contacts and they don’t need to have a preexisting relationship with your brand page. Secondly, once you get people attending your event, there are so many ways to engage them! Users can add photos and videos, they can comment and reply.

But the most engaging element is Google+'s live video stream. With a Facebook event, there is really no reason for a user to log in and look at the events page during an event. Google+ allows you to host a Google hangout and pin the event's live video feed to the top of the event page. Google+ hangouts allow you to make the event page a one-stop shop for accessing event content, and with the live video stream of the event streaming at the top of the page, users can upload photos or converse about the event on the page while watching it in action.

After the event is over, the live stream can automatically shift to a YouTube video of the event, which keeps the conversation and engagement going long after the event has ended.

Google+ has one more thing going for it. It is intuitive. Intuitive designs are key when dealing with social media. Facebook can do many of the same things that Google+ does, but accessing the options and putting the ideas into action can be a struggle. Google+ makes it simple and quick.

Log in to Google+ today, and test out the events pages yourself.  You’ll be glad you did.
