We’ve all had those moments sitting in front of the computer, wracking our brains for the perfect status update.  Sublimely funny or emotionally poignant?  Song lyrics or cryptic passage?  Well, as with most things, there is now a service to help you out.  Specifically, a social media service.  Ku began as a way to put the focus back on words, rather than photos, as a way to connect with those around you.

The iOS app want to help you gain inspiration and motivation for your words, hopefully elevating them past something like “yolo swag.”  Ku uses a series of questions to prompt users to figure out their statuses in a natural way, rather than just feeding them prewritten content.  The questions are simple, along the lines of  “what did you do last night,” and “how was your day.”

The text must fit on three lines, and once it’s written up, users can add a photo or a simple doodle.  It can be shared on Ku’s service, allowing other Ku members to like and comment, or it can just be sent straight to more mainstream social networks.
