To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of its app store release, Candy Crush partnered with Grammy-award-winner Meghan Trainor to provide players with exclusive content.

About the collaboration

For the collaboration, Candy Crush designers transformed Trainor into a “candified” character that users can play with as they unlock exclusive anniversary content, treats, and boosters. Trainor even recorded a series of vocal game prompts to encourage players, who were also given 24-hour advanced access to the Candy-Crush-themed music video she created for her latest single, “Made You Look.”

When asked about how the app decided to partner with Trainor for the anniversary, Fernanda Romano, chief marketing officer at King, (the company that developed Candy Crush), shared:

“Working with Meghan Trainor on this unique collaboration is thrilling for our fans. Her music is uplifting and provides listeners with a ‘sweet escape’ – just like Candy Crush Saga. As part of our 10th anniversary, we’re excited to celebrate with our players around the world through exclusive content, as well as more fun surprises to come.”

To date, Candy Crush has been downloaded over 3 billion times and has generated over $1 billion in revenue, making it one of the highest-grossing mobile games ever released.
