Samsung has built the first refrigerator with a simple, easy-to-use computer inside of it. True, we have had fridges with screens and computer chips before, but the Samsung T9000 smart fridge is a true breakthrough.

With wireless technology and a proprietary operating system that runs apps for Google, Epicurious, and Evernote (a note-taking application that syncs on all your mobile devices), this could be the closest we’ve ever come to a refrigerator that restocks itself. It’s certainly the only refrigerator that lets you to tweet what your cooking while you check the recipe and crush ice.

Its also proof of Samsung’s effective market research.

For men, cooking typically means putting spices on a piece of meat and grilling it. Women, on the other hand, are not only more likely to create a full meal (rather than a main course), but studies have found they are also far more likely to share their creations via Twitter and Pinterest. Samsung took note, and its revolutionary new refrigerator gives women the ability to integrate their social experience with household chores by downloading complex recipes straight from the fridge and then sharing their culinary creations with friends.

This isn’t just a smart fridge. It’s a smart fridge designed for the needs a specific demographic (tech-savvy, female amateur cooks). And while its not the first smart kitchen computing device, its probably going to be the first to really penetrate and become something we can’t live without.

Would you buy the Samsung refrigerator?
