Not to be outdone by Google+, Twitter has launched an update to streams across iOS, Android and Twitter.com. They’ve made Twitter more visual, bringing photo and video previews to the heart of the Twitter stream in hopes to create greater engagement. They’re also making it easier to interact with tweets by allowing you to reply, retweet or favorite straight from the feed.

But some are already voicing concerns about the update to a more visual Twitter. For one, what happens to NSFW images and other questionable content? Will these types of images be shown directly in a person’s timeline or will they be blocked? For those worried about this issue on the web, be sure to check the content setting that warns you before showing sensitive media.
Fortunately for those who don’t like this new, more visual feed, you can turn off image previews in the settings menu of iOS and Android. The update is live on twitter.com and should be available as an update for your mobile device of choice. Overall we think it’s a good update that brings content front and center, which is always a good thing. You can check out a short Vine of the new featured visuals below.
