If you’ve ever been frustrated by navigating/trying to navigate your clogged or disorganized gmail account, then this is the best news you’ll receive all week. Provided you use Google’s Chrome browser (and come on, what moderately computer proficient individual doesn’t use Chrome at least most of the time), you can now download an extension called Checker Plus from the Chrome Web Store.
Checker Plus does two main things: first, it gives you a pop-up notification in the corner of your screen when new mail arrives no matter what program you’re using or page you’re on, allowing you to flag, delete, or read the mail instantly and without refreshing your inbox. Second, Checker Plus lets you view a compact, pop-out list of all your messages, helping you stay organized and aware of all your unread mail.
Beneath those main features are a ton of sub features that are crazy useful. A built-in voice can read you your messages, custom color-coded labels for sorting, easy switching and labeling of multiple accounts, and more.
