Previously we mentioned that Snapchat could be the next social network that companies and brands ventured into in 2014, with the latest being fast-food juggernaut McDonald's. They now join the likes of Taco Bell and others who are looking to tap into Snapchat's fast growing user base (at least 30 million active monthly users.) They “soft-launched” the account last week and took to Twitter on Friday to get the ball rolling.

They're also marketing their upcoming commercial starring Lebron James. With huge companies like McDonald's now joining the budding social network to better market to millennials, it's only a matter of time before others fall in line. This is great news for Snapchat, as they continue to grow their user base and look at how to monetize their product. The big question now is will Snapchat remain independent or will they be the next startup that's snatched up?
