No, you are not crazy: Twitter hasn’t dramatically changed, nor has its evil twin appeared.  Rather, Vine updated its iOS notifications, making them more like Twitter’s.  On Tuesday, the video-sharing app debuted new customizable notifications, revamped sharing, as well as a redesigned home screen.  Responding to feedback from users, Vine heard the requests for more notification controls, and has adjusted accordingly.  “With today’s update, you can now customize notifications to your heart’s content by accessing the Notifications menu in Settings,” announced Kristin Bauer, one of Vine’s software engineers.

With the new menu, one can fine-tune which push notifications you want to receive in addition to customizing the notifications you can see via Vine’s activity menu.  Similar to notifications you get on Twitter, Vine users can now elect to see, none, tailored notifications, or all notifications for mentions, follows, revenues, and comments.  The improved features don’t stop there: Vine unveiled a new menu bar at the bottom of the app, which features easier and better navigation.  Rather than being stuffed into home menu at the top left-hand corner, this new menu makes it easier for users to switch between explore, home, profile, and activity tabs. In addition, private-messaging through Vine also got easier with the update.  Now, whenever you create a new video, you can choose whether you want to share it publicly, or send a private message directly from the app’s share menu.

This newest version of Vine can be found in Apple’s App Store.  While it is just the iOS version that got these major updates, Android users should not be up in arms: the Android app already received some of the newer features, such as the customizable notifications and newer menu bar.
