Certain jobs are much more on-the-go than others, like a plumbing, photography, and consultants, to name a few.  Compared to the average cubicle-bound office worker, these mobile professions are constantly on the move, but typically have access to far fewer tools.

Yang Fordjindam and Sam Madden would like to change that with PocketSuite, a business management tool that will bring on-demand car service Uber’s much-lauded business model to other on-call services, like those mentioned above.

The app handles scheduling, booking, and payment for the almost 21 million independent contractors, allowing self-employed professionals to run their business easily and effectively.  “What PocketSuite gives these people the power to do is to schedule appointments and receive payments,” says co-founder Sam Madden.

The app is available in the iTunes store, and integrates with software like Yelp and Thumbtack, leveraging the iPhone’s built-in calendar to ensure that schedules are up-to-date and accurate.
