Today is election day, and chances are if you’ve checked Facebook since you’ve woken up, you already know that.

The front page of the social media giant is sporting a big red, white, and blue election button known as the voter megaphone.  This year, the company is attempting to roll the feature out to every US user over the age of 18, but not without some issues.

A known bug is apparently not allowing the button to be visible to every user, as well as a concerted boost in political posts by particularly civic-minded individuals.  Some are taking issue and accusing Facebook of pushing voters from one particular side or another in an effort to swing the vote.

The network, of course, maintains that it simply wants everyone to get out and vote.  “Our effort is neutral,” said a company spokesperson, “while we encourage any and all candidates, groups, and voters to use our platform to engage on the elections, we as a company have not used our products in a way that attempts to influence how people vote.”
