Start-ups are starting to see the benefit of delivery-style service, after witnessing the success of apps like Uber, the ultra fast and reliable taxi service.
Now we have Pager, which will act as a, well, pager, and bring a doctor to your doorstep. It works like Uber, where you create a profile with a picture, and then attach your card info to that profile. Once it’s all completed, you can scroll through a list of doctors and look for the one that is right for the appropriate situation. A tap creates a quick phone consultation, which costs about $50. Pricey, but potentially worth it. If you need a doctor to make a house call, it’ll be about $300, but compared to some doctors bill nowadays, it seems fairly reasonable.
Pager is only in Manhattan right now, and the list of doctors isn’t very long, but more are being added every day, and if the service is successful, which it most likely will be, then it will certainly spread at a rapid rate. Just like a virus!
