In an epic collaboration that brings the fictional into the real world, Samsung has teamed up with the folks at Marvel to showcase its latest line of Galaxy products – and introduce a special new microsite dubbed “Spidey Tracker.”

“A brand new shape for a Brand New Day”

Coinciding with the release of the latest Spider-Man movie, “Brand New Day,” Samsung’s latest campaign is titled: “A brand new shape for a Brand New Day.” The main ad for the campaign rolled out on social media and streaming channels late last month, highlighting the quality of Samsung products – and how they are durable enough to survive the lifestyle of a superhero. The ad follows Spider-Man and his friend Ned as they interact with the newest line of Galaxy products, including the Galaxy Z Flip7, the Galaxy Z Fold7, and the Galaxy Watch.

Samsung’s production team went above and beyond to recreate the set, working meticulously to make it look as authentic as possible. They even worked directly with Brett Pawlak, the Director of Photography for the film, to ensure a “seamless integration” between the shots in the movie and the shots filmed for the advertisement.

In addition to creating the collaborative ad with Spider-Man, Samsung also managed to land its products into the full-length film, as both Spider-Man and Ned use Galaxy technology to communicate. Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Jefferey Godsick, commented on the partnership:

“Spider-Man has always been a hero defined by his connection to his community. Teaming up with Samsung helped bring that spirit to life both on screen and beyond, integrating the technology people use every day into Spider-Man’s world while also bringing innovative and fun new ways for fans to engage through the Spidey Tracker.”

Alongside the ad, Samsung launched “Spidey Tracker,” an online space that allows fans to access exclusive content surrounding the new film. Featuring retro graphics and narrated by Ned (aka Jacob Batalon), the site includes fan content, photos and videos from tour stops, and details of Spider-Man themed events happening in 35 countries around the globe.

And Samsung isn’t the only company capitalizing on the Spider-Man hype this summer. Liquid I.V. recently released a commercial featuring characters from the film using its products, Google Maps is highlighting current “Spidey-Sightings,” and a quick search of “Spider-Man” in Google enables users to send the superhero swinging across their screens…
