Starting today, Twitter will begin gradually releasing its profile page overhaul, which is startlingly similar to the current Facebook profile page layout.

The biggest features include a large cover photo at the top, with the main profile picture sitting at the bottom left of the cover photo.  Your best tweets are emphasized on a “wall” of tweets centered on the page, and there is a new option to sort tweets, i.e., by whether or not they have images, replies, or videos.

The new design is currently only available for a few celebrities (including Zac Efron, Channing Tatum), and is scheduled to be applied to all users within the next few weeks.  High profile users come first, the rest of us will have to wait a bit.
